P&G Senior Vice President of R&D, Gerard Baillely, Elected to National Academy of Engineering

MARCH 2025

P&G R&D is celebrating Gerard Baillely, PhD, who has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering in recognition of his leadership in creating innovative consumer packaging with enhanced performance, value, consumer satisfaction, and sustainability. This unwavering commitment has driven the creation of packaging solutions that not only meet but also exceed consumer expectations.

This prestigious distinction is a testament to his remarkable contributions throughout his 37-year career at P&G where he has developed a diverse portfolio of upstream products addressing consumer needs across various categories. Even more, Gerard has led the expansion of company-wide R&D capabilities (Analytical & Measurement Science, Data & Modeling Science, Bioscience, and more).

Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions given to an engineer. Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to "engineering research, practice, or education, including, where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature" and to "the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education."
